I went out with Lahana Divers for a few dives off Molokai. The ride over included several whale sightings and the picturesque landscape of West Maui's shoreline from sea. The channel was quite calm and the ride was excellent on the big Newton boat Lahana Divers uses. When we got there, we geared up and dropped off the boat like paratroopers, one after the other... Underwater we were looking for Hamerhead Sharks, so the dive plan was to swim out into open water and look for the sharks. We did this for about 20 minutes then swam back to the rock and explored the marine life. On dive two we did the same dive plan, and a Wahoo came swimming by which was very cool... Sadly we didn't see sharks (this was only the 2nd trip in 1.5 years were they didn't see the Hammerheads). The structure was very interesting and the vis was excellent. We didn't have any currents and we heard lots of whales underwater. It was a unique experience diving Molokai and I hope to get back there soon with Lahana Divers!
